Sailboats Inc. started the Charter Sailing business on Lake Superior in 1976. In 1980, we added our Sailing Instruction program that has since graduated 11,000 bare boat charter certified sailors. Boats in our Charter Fleets are privately owned, and under contract to Sailboats Inc. for management, marketing and maintenance. Sailing is increasing in popularity, as it did in the 70’s, due to its environmental purity. Sailing has always been a "Green" activity. The current environmental awareness will spur additional Learn to Sail and Charter activity.

We need new boats for our fleets in Bayfield, Superior, Manitowoc, Chicago & Lake City.

This need coincides with Congressional Act HR 5140 that provides unprecedented tax benefits for individuals buying a new boat for one of our fleets.

a. Have a 2008 tax liability from income that would benefit from the exceptional first year depreciation of 60% - 100% of purchase price for 2008 ONLY.

b. Want to own a boat but wants it in a successful charter business.
